TOMISIN ATOBATELE

The Show

Be on the show

Send me your question and I may answer it out loud on a live stream, with everyone listening. It is completely free. I will also tell you now that most questions are never used, because far more come in than I can ever get to.

What free costs you is privacy. If yours is used, your first name, your age and your country go out to everyone watching, and people will have opinions about your situation. Sending it is also final: there is no taking it back. So please decide before you send rather than after.

If that is worth a shot to you, record it below. I would much rather hear your voice than read your words, so voice submissions are the ones I go to first.

Voice first

A recording is usually played on air in your own voice. It is the whole point of the format.

First names only

I only ever say your first name. Your last name is never said and never shown.

Sending is final

There is no take back and no un-send. Once it is in, the show can use it.

Step 1. Your question

3 minute maximum. Anything longer is too long to play on the show.

Your audio quality decides whether you get picked.

  • Record somewhere quiet. No traffic, no TV, no wind.
  • Hold your phone close to your mouth. Do not leave it across the room.
  • Play it back before you send it. Listen to 10 to 15 seconds and check you can hear yourself clearly.

If it is muffled or distorted, Tomisin will skip it and it will not be read on the show.

Or upload a voice memo you recorded elsewhere
  • Accepted formats: m4a, mp3, and wav. An iPhone Voice Memo is an m4a.
  • 3 minutes or less. Longer files are turned away automatically.

Please keep your recording to 3 minutes or less. Anything longer is too long to play on the show.

Step 2. About you

Only your first name is ever used on the show. Your last name is never said and never shown. I ask for it so I know who sent this.

This is only for context. The same question means something very different at 25 than it does at 45, and being honest here is what lets Tomisin read your situation accurately. Your age is shown beside your first name; nothing else about you is.

In case I need to reach you about your question. It is never said on air. If your number is from another country, type it with the + and the country code.

Your country is the only part of this that is ever shown on the show, so people listening get a rough sense of where you are writing from. Your city and your state or region are never shown and never said.

Step 3. Before you send

Free is the trade. This is public, it is not private, and sending it is final. Your first name, age and country may be said out loud. If what you need is privacy, the Ask page is the private route.

This form is not a helpline and nobody watches it in real time. If something is happening right now, please do not wait for me.

If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential help any time: in the US or Canada you can call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. In the US you can also text START to 88788 for the National Domestic Violence Hotline; in Canada you can reach the Assaulted Women's Helpline at 1-866-863-0511. If you are somewhere else, your local emergency number or a local crisis line can help right away.

Still needed: your name and a working email, your age, a phone number, where you are (country, state or region, and city), a recording (if you just recorded one, tap "Attach this recording" in the recorder above) or an audio file, the release box, the age box, the captcha check just above.

Sending this does not mean it gets answered. Most are not.

Want an answer you know is coming?

The show is free, public, and a long shot. If what you are going through is too personal to put on a stream, or you simply need a real answer rather than a chance at one, ask me privately instead. That one is recorded just for you, it comes with a written guide, and it is never public. A private question is never used on the show either, even if you have also sent one here.
